Check your over-wintering plants

It is now time to check your overwintering plants in storage. Some of you will be storing geraniums, or other sub-tropical plants, and will want to check them now for pests and general health. Plants stored in their own soil may need a light watering at this time of year. Wipe off any pests with a damp cloth as needed. These plants can be moved up into a cool well lit area once we are into March. Bare root plants can be potted up and setup ready to come on for spring. Keep in mind that many of these tender perennials may not be able to go out until the danger of frost is gone so keep an eye on the forecast it is commonly plant out time the last week of May.
